✅ Stable funding to meet the needs of a growing district
✅ Securing land for new schools — especially a new high school in the northeast
✅ Protecting the human rights of LGBTQ+ students and minorities
✅ Celebrating and supporting teachers, staff, and school leaders
✅ Continuing the journey of Truth and Reconciliation
✅ Expanding mental health supports for students and staff
✅ Increasing transparency and engagement with families and stakeholders
✅ Building respectful partnerships with all levels of government
✅ Addressing classroom aggression and complexity, ensuring safety and support

New Schools and Expansions

2017- 2025, the Board added two new schools, Lois E. Hole, K-9, Joseph M. Demko K-6 and one replacement school, Paul Kane High. In addition we are currently modernizing and expanding Bellerose High school. St. Albert has doubled its population since the early 80’s. We desperately need more schools. This is one of my top priorities. Good planning is much better than crisis management!

Our Staff Our Heroes

With the blessings of my Board we were able to issue a plaque to our staff during COVID-19 pandemic, commemorating their remarkable resilience, determination, creativity, compassion and heroism, while supporting the students and families of St. Albert Public Schools. This plaque was presented to every school, facility and division office. This plaque will serve as a reminder to future generations of the hardship our generation has experienced during this challenging and unprecedented time in our history and will undoubtedly generate dialogues and discussions focused on how to better handle future pandemics.
